The copyrighted software and the necessary accompanying hardware and smart cards are available from Health Smart Card to anyone interested in starting their own business in a location separate from El Paso, Texas. Health Smart Card's current philosophy is to make available the creation of the same business opportunity in other cities around the USA, and internationally, in order to have as many geographical locations as possible. Card holders can travel to these locations and still have their Health Smart Card read because the same software is being used.

If different programs were available around the country, then cardholders would be able to use their Health Smart Cards locally only. Therefore, it is our goal to make the business opportunity available to anyone interested in starting his or her own business venture in his or her hometown. Please contact us for more information.

The products necessary to accomplish this are:

1. Builder Software
This software is the center of the entire program. It configures your existing computer to accept the Reader/Writer, which plugs into a USB port. It enables the smart card to accept the data being written to it. The data is entered, written to the card, read from the card, displayed on the monitor screen and printed to paper using your existing Windows default printer. The data on the smart card can be edited by deleting old information which has changed and adding new information as it occurs. This software program can be used exclusively by the Health Smart Card data entry site in conjunction with the Reader software being used by the Reader sites or the Builder software can be used at all sites.

2. Reader Software
The Reader software only reads and prints out a hard copy of the Health Smart Card. It does not have the capability of editing the data to change the card's information. Many reader sites do not want the responsibility or do not have the personnel to accomplish this. For example, many Doctor's offices may not have employees able to be freed up from existing duties to take the time to edit their patient's Health Smart Card. If you charge a small fee for upgrades to the smart card, then you couldn't expect the business at the reader site to perform that function for you unless they are business partners with you. Restriction of the Reader Software to specific sites so determined by you also allows you to prevent someone not adequately trained from entering wrong information. The software programs use Windows Operating Systems.

3. Reader/Writer
The Builder or Reader software programs are necessary to enable the computer, the smart card and the reader/writer to work together. The Reader/Writer has a USB connection.  It is necessary to have a Reader/Writer at each location where the cards are created, read or edited. The Reader/Writer is about the size of a deck of cards. The software program has an auto port configuration function which enables the Reader/Writer to work on your computer.

4. Smart Cards
The smart card is HIPAA compliant.
