TO PLACE A HEALTH SMART CARD READER IN A
Hospital

Emergency Room
The Health
Smart Card is a credit card sized card with a computer chip imbedded
into it. The Smart Card will carry programmed medical data and
insurance billing information of the cardholder. The card is
easily updated whenever any changes occur.
By inserting the card into a
card reader which connects to a computer via a serial port, the
data is displayed on the computer screen in any participating
ambulance, emergency department, Doctor's office, pharmacy, outpatient
surgical facility, or retirement home, etc. The computer screen
display is easily printed to paper. Examples of a printout, application
form, card appearance and instruction sheet are included.
The benefits to your Hospital's
Emergency Department are:
- The Emergency Department physician
will have detailed medical information on the patient immediately
thereby expediting diagnosis and onset of treatment. This will
increase efficiency and shorten the time spent with each patient
so more patients can be seen quicker.
- If the patient is unable to
answer the Doctor's questions for whatever reason then, with
the Health Smart Card, detailed information is still available.
This may be life saving such as in an instance of diabetic coma.
- Insurance billing information
is provided for up to two carriers with ID and telephone numbers
for certification.

to demonstrate the Health Smart Card and reader to you and discuss
how it will be of benefit to your facility.
I am requesting that you place
a Health Smart Card reader in your Hospital Emergency Department
to be able to read the cards of your patients who are participants
of this program. If you have a reader in your facility, your
business name will be printed on an instruction sheet which is
provided to ALL card holders. This will be free advertising for
your Hospital.
