Home Health Care Agency
The Health Smart Card is a credit card sized card with a computer chip imbedded into it. The Smart Card will carry programmed medical data and insurance billing information of the cardholder. The card is easily updated whenever any changes occur.

By inserting the card into a card reader which connects to a computer via a serial port, the data is displayed on the computer screen in any participating ambulance, emergency department, Doctor's office, pharmacy, outpatient surgical facility, retirement home, or home health care agency, etc. The computer screen display is easily printed to paper. Examples of a printout, application form, card appearance and instruction sheet are included.

The benefits to your facility are:

1. Whenever your clients are transported to the emergency room or to their Doctor's office, the Health Smart Card will contain all of the health and insurance information needed by the health care provider. It might be read in a participating ambulance, emergency department, or doctor's office.
2. A printout of the card could be produced by your facility for the resident to hand carry in case there might not be a Health Smart Card reader where they are going. This will increase efficiency and shorten the time spent with each patient thereby making the evaluation quicker.
3. If the patient is unable to answer the health care provider's questions for whatever reason then, with the smart card, detailed information is still available. This may be life saving such as in instances of diabetic coma.
4. Insurance billing information is provided for up to two carriers with ID numbers and telephone numbers.
5. You could offer the Health Smart Card at your expense to your prospective clients as an incentive to engage your services. This would then be a marketing tool to sell your services.
6. You could assist your residents in obtaining the Health Smart Card at their own expense and then provide for them a reader in your facility so printouts can be made to accompany them to their health care providers.
