Doctor's Office
The Health Smart Card is a credit card sized card with a computer chip imbedded into it. The Smart Card will carry programmed medical data and insurance billing information of the cardholder. The card is easily updated whenever any changes occur.

By inserting the card into a card reader which connects to a computer via a serial port, the data is displayed on the computer screen in any participating ambulance, emergency department, Doctor's office, pharmacy, outpatient surgical facility, nursing home, etc. The computer screen display is easily printed to paper for inclusion in the chart. Examples of a printout, application form, card appearance and instruction sheet are included.

The benefits to your office are:

1. The private office physician will have detailed medical information on the patient immediately thereby expediting diagnosis and onset of treatment. This will increase efficiency and shorten the time spent with each patient so patients can be seen quicker.
2. If the patient is unable to answer the Doctor's questions for whatever reason then, with the smart card, detailed information is still available. This may be life saving such as in instances of diabetic coma.
3. Insurance billing information is provided for up to two carriers with ID numbers and telephone numbers.
4. As the patient's physician, your name and phone number can be entered into the card's memory chip along with the patient's medical history.

If you have a reader in your office, your name will be printed on an instruction sheet which is provided to ALL card holders. This will be free advertising for your office.
